These are students who have not handed in their course registration forms and have not officially enrolled in to the course, and you should submit your course registration form as a matter of urgency. Also, in this latest tutorial allocation, some students had to be moved from their initial tutorial slots, due to limited room capacity. If this does not work for you, you should contact Caroline Benson (cb77) to have your tutorial group changed, but in the meantime to go to their preferred tutorial this week. Thank you for your patience in this process, and let’s hope that we are getting close to finalising the timetable for this course! Regards, Satoshi For more details please check the Blackboard course site. Sun, 11 Oct 2009 -- QME tutorial allocation Dear students taking QME As you know I have opted to allocate you into tutorial groups according to your quantitative backgrounds and your preferences. Having collected information on your preferences at the first lecture on Monday last week, I have spent a great deal of time and effort to allocate the tutorials carefully. The resulting allocation was posted on the Blackboard course site on Tuesday, posted outside my office (room 4425), and also sent to the faculty office to be incorporated in your individual on-line timetables. However, it has now come to my attention that despite the fact that I opted out of the computerised automatic allocation of the tutorials done by the faculty office, and despite having reported the allocated tutorial groups before this automatic allocation, the faculty office nevertheless went ahead and changed my allocation. This means that I actually do not know how many tutorial is running now and who is in which tutorial at all. Since Friday I am receiving emails from some of you complaining about the situation, since you thought were allocated to your preferred slot, but now found yourself in a completely different one. I am discussing with the faculty office to address this problem and I hope some resolution can be found soon. Sorry to end the first week of the term on a disappointing note, but let's hope that things improves from here! Have a good weekend and see you on Monday. Regards, Satoshi Fri, 09 Oct 2009 -- QME Tutorial allocation As some of you know, following our first lecture on Monday 5 October, I have allocated you in to your tutorial groups according to your preferences. This was submitted to the faculty office, but it now turns out that the faculty office has modified the allocation. I am in the process of clarifying this situation and hopefully I can report you your finalised tutorial allocation early next week. Hope your first week of the term went well and wish you a good weekend. See you on Monday. Regards, Satoshi For more details please check the Blackboard course site and follow the Course Link: Course Administration / Tutorial groups.
